About the Sub-centre

The TCOE India Sub-centre at IIT Madras, established on 19th July 2024, stands as a premier hub for 6G technology research and innovation. Located at one of India's most prestigious institutions, this centre of excellence is dedicated to advancing the frontiers of next-generation wireless communications, quantum technologies, and network architecture.

With a strong focus on classical and quantum communication technologies, the sub-centre brings together world-class researchers, industry partners, and promising startups to develop novel algorithms, techniques, and products that will shape the future of telecommunications in India and beyond.

Research Focus Areas

Classical Communication Technologies
Advanced research in traditional wireless communication systems, signal processing, and network optimization techniques that form the foundation of 6G networks.

Quantum Communication
Pioneering work in quantum key distribution, quantum cryptography, and quantum networking to enable ultra-secure communications for 6G systems.

6G Network Architecture
Designing and developing next-generation network architectures that integrate AI/ML, edge computing, and intelligent resource management.

Novel Algorithms & Techniques
Creating innovative algorithms for beamforming, MIMO systems, spectrum efficiency, and ultra-low latency communications.
